Winning the Emerging Technology Award at the SPE Offshore Achievement Awards is a huge deal for TriStim and we’re very humbled to have been recognised by the industry in this way.
It’s perfect timing for us, because right now is when TriStim is moving forward into the deployment phase of the product journey.
Stuart McLeod, Managing Director of Delphian Ballistics, said: “Delphian has come a long way since first developing the TriStim prototype and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team as we reach this pivotal point in TriStim’s journey.
We are well underway with the next phase of the business and have secured collaboration agreements with major service companies who recognise TriStim as a differentiator.
We are thrilled with this achievement which comes at an exciting time and signals a new chapter in our development.”
Of the awards in general, Ian Phillips, SPE Aberdeen Board Member and Chair of the OAA organising committee, said: “The awards have yet again delivered beyond our expectations, with all of the winners demonstrating remarkable innovation, ambition and potential.”
That this is a technical award is great recognition of all the hard work that has been carried out to ensure TriStim is ready for deployment in the ground.
Simon Allison, Technical Director of Delphian Ballistics, said: “We are delighted with the recognition this Offshore Achievement Award offers TriStim within the oil and gas industry. The accolade is second to none. As a team we have worked hard to enhance TriStim and its offering has significant benefits for operators and service companies alike.”
What’s next for TriStim?
We’re currently in Phase Two of the TriStim rollout and very much ahead of the curve. Production and pre-frack wells have been agreed and collaboration agreements have been made with major service companies who recognise the technology as a differentiator. The team is at the closing stages of signing up collaboration agreements with large wireline / TCP service companies in Europe, the US and, most recently, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
The benefits of TriStim are twofold: along with reducing environmentally-damaging levels of onshore and offshore fracking, the implications of improving hydrocarbon flow in conventional wells and increasing productivity go far beyond simply producing more barrels of oil per day.
The patented system will also make depleted and uneconomic assets viable again, whether individual wells or entire fields. It will cut the time taken to exploit individual wells by reducing the lifecycle cost, whilst also extending the scale of the project. Ultimately, it will increase asset value, recoverable hydrocarbon reserves and shareholder value.
In the UK, Delphian is focusing its efforts on providing North Sea offshore operators with significant production increases. It will also look to offer the US shale gas market a pre-frack solution with trials of TriStim already scheduled to take place.
